Karen R. Mooneeram is a founding partner of Mooneeram + Serres + Vivanco, P.A., whose practice includes Plaintiff’s insurance litigation, first party property claims, immigration, breach of contract, real estate, premises liability and personal injury.

At a very young age, Karen dreamed of opening and running a law firm and has worked diligently to achieve these aspirations. Prior to establishing Mooneeram + Serres + Vivanco, P.A., Karen worked as an Associate Attorney and then Senior Associate at a local Miami Plaintiff’s firm, focusing her area of practice on assisting Insureds in their fight against Insurance companies in the areas of Personal Injury Protection and first party property damage litigation. Karen also briefly worked for a prestigious Insurance defense firm wherein she was able to learn the assessments used by Insurance Companies in making coverage and payment determinations. As such, Karen has developed a critical and astute eye for assisting Insureds in evaluating and litigating insurance claims.

Furthermore, during this time Karen also did an Internship with an Immigration firm, focusing on business and entertainment immigration.

Karen prides herself on putting the needs of her clients first and strives to give each of her clients the personal attention and focus that they deserve. Her caring and empathetic nature along with her determination and quest for justice and fairness give her a unique and focused ability to efficiently and effectively handle complex litigation issues that often arise while making her clients feel comfortable and at ease with the process.

Karen was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago and moved to South Florida to attend Florida International University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and a double minor in Geography and Asian Studies.

Upon graduating, Karen also received the award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in International Relations and was inducted in various scholastic and honor societies including; Golden Key International Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa and the National Deans List. Karen then attended Florida International University College of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate. She rounded out her educational career by attended Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago wherein she earned the Council’s Legal Education Certificate (LEC).
